To absinthe friends...
During the late nineteenth century absinthe became the favoured tipple of bohemian French café society. Its association with the French impressionist movement made it synonymous with the decadence and promiscuity that characterised artistic circles at the time. Because of its ill effects, the drink was banned in many countries and a century later has it only recently started to find its way back into accepted circles.
